Dual-purpose breed featured

As the official feature breed of Elders FarmFest 2026, the Traditional Simmental and Fleckvieh is taking centre stage.

Combining Swiss heritage with over 50 years of Australian grit, this is your chance to secure genetics from a global powerhouse of over 40 million head.

Whether you are running a purebred operation or looking to inject "hybrid vigor" into a commercial program, these cattle are proven performers.

Society spokesperson Trevor Anderson believes FarmFest is the perfect event to showcase the breed.

"FarmFest is a terrific opportunity to spotlight the breed's unique dual-purpose edge - producing high-yielding, lean meat alongside exceptional milk production volumes," he said.

The Traditional Simmental and Fleckvieh sale will include genetics from vendors represented at FarmFest.

Sale lots will either be available for viewing on-site or offered with delivery from the vendor's property, as indicated on Stocklive where the sale will be conducted.

Bidding opens at 9am, Wednesday, June 3, with the final countdown timer-controlled to close at 11am, Thursday, June 4.

Vendors and offerings include:

  • R & A Maxwell (Delelvin Simmental Fleckvieh), Gowrie - one bull, two females;

  • Jarrad Maxwell (Delelvin Simmental Fleckvieh), Gowrie - one female, 1 genetics package (three A-grade IVF embryos);
