Eyes to the sky for drone exhibition
The increasingly familiar hum and buzz of drones will fill the air at Elders FarmFest this year.
A dedicated drone demonstration area will provide a window into what these devices are capable of.
Supported by some of Australia's leading agricultural drone companies, the area (located on the AA row) will showcase the latest innovations in drone technology and its role in the future of agriculture.

The area has seating for attendee viewing and allows connections to be made with the exhibitor and attendees.
The drone demonstration area is open to all exhibitors who wish to display drone technology.
Fly the Farm, Oztech Drones, AgDrone.AU and AgTech360 are the exhibitors who can be found adjacent to this new area at Elders FarmFest this year.
ACM Agri commercial manager - events Gabriella James said there was increasing interest in drone technology.
"With drones becoming a vital piece in Australian farming practices they will be showcasing the capacities of these through GPS mapping, sensors on board and automated flight paths to show how drones can improve efficiency and reduce environmental impacts through modern technology," Ms James said.
She said data showed 43 per cent of Elders FarmFest visitors came to learn about new technologies, while 24pc came to watch live demonstrations and see the new technology.
"Forty per cent of farm managers are interested in agritech. Drone interest has seen an 8pc increase in product interest each year," Ms James said.
NEW TOOLS
While there is still great interest in larger farming equipment at field days held throughout the country, increasingly producers are wanting information on digitally-controlled, airborne gear, according to Ms James.
"The technology drones provide complements these as tools that have helped improve farming practices through efficiency and environment impact reduction," she said.
